FAQs
SenseMakes was designed by a communication specialist and a trauma educator to offer different communicative contexts for exploration of self, relationships, and the world. SenseMakes offers individual consultation (including therapy) as well as forums and focus groups with the hopes that exploration beyond a psychologized self can begin to take more space in the world. SenseMakes believes an individual's growth can get stuck in a psychological Self model which becomes preventative of participating more communicatively in our world - which our world desperately needs.
A: A forum is an open discussion where multiple participants share ideas, experiences, and questions in a less structured format. It encourages broad participation and diverse viewpoints about a general topic.
In contrast, a focus group is a more immersive discussion into a current issue in our world, guided by a facilitator to explore targeted topics in depth.
At SenseMakes, we leverage both forums and focus groups to create inclusive educational group environments that foster expansive interpersonal communication and collective learning.
